Manufacturing Facility and Atlantic Richfield Company for their environmental projects. The award is named for the late Frank Condon, a longtime member of the Environmental Quality Board and EFO's Board of Directors. The award recognizes an EFO member company, which has implemented an innovative, voluntary, and effective environmental program in Oklahoma. Sinclair's winning ozone reduction project lowered the Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) of gasoline produced by Sinclair's Tulsa Refinery to an average of 7.8 psi during the ozone season, thereby making an immense contribution to Tulsa County's successful avoidance of non-attainment status. Norit 's award stemmed from the company's work with DEQ to reduce by more than 90% the hazardous waste stream generated from the manufacturing and recycling of activated carbon at its Pryor Facility.
EFO is a nonprofit organization providing Oklahoma companies a voice in the formulation and implementation of state and federal environmental laws, regulations and policies. The organization's goal is to ensure that a balance is reached between protecting Oklahoma's natural resources and responsible economic growth, leading to an enhanced environment and an improved quality of life for all the citizens of Oklahoma.
