Ultra-pure activated carbons are required in applications ranging from the purification of proteins to the removal of odorous compounds and dark color bodies. Activated carbon is often used as the final polishing step in drug manufacturing. • Vitamins
  Vitamins are produced on industrial scale by chemicals synthesis, fermentation and extraction from natural material. Norit activated carbons are used for 1) vitamin decolorizing and purification, and 2) the isolation (by adsorption) of certain vitamins in fermentation broths. The vitamins are recovered by solvent extraction and distillation.
